I’m not afraid of heights!

I’m not afraid of heights,
I’m afraid of falling down.

What does it mean?

Even when in plain sight, we don’t always see the whole picture. Not in others and not in ourselves. It’s rarely, or maybe never, the thing or situation that causes us discomfort that we fear. It’s what it could do to us

Thoughts on the subject

If I put a two-by-four on the ground and ask you to walk on it from one end to the other, could you do it? What if I raise it 50 centimeters off the ground? How about 10 meters off the ground? Most of us will probably answer yes to the first two and no to the last one, but why? The challenge or task is essentially the same. So why not? Is it because you are afraid of heights?

But the stakes have changed

If I put up a safety net, and  under tYou have to do is walk the same two-by-four
