Thoughts on the subject

Every minute of every waken hour, you are bombarded with sound, images, and other sensory impressions. Everyone is competing for your attention, trying to lure you away from the present, and the nearest escape or distraction is never more than an arm’s length away. We’ve gotten so used to the noise that many people can’t handle silence anymore.

Words are limited to describing things and events that are already known to both sender and receiver, and therefore this explanation may not make sense to you.
