From the bottom, the only way is up

When you hit rock bottom,
at least you know the
foundation is solid.

What does it mean?

We will all experience adversity in our lives, and often it seems to bundle up and hit you in waves. But there’s a bright side to this; only so much can go wrong. Eventually, you’ve made all the mistakes or met all the misfortunes possible. But when you’ve overcome it, what’s left is good and will create a strong foundation for something new.

Thoughts on the subject

Every so often, life throws you a curveball that causes you to lose balance and stagger. But most times, you’ll quickly regain your balance and continue. And sure, it can be somewhat annoying when you encounter obstacles, and things turn out differently than expected. But it also provides us with an opportunity for learning and growing. And honestly, wouldn’t it be boring if everything in life played out as planned all the time?

Sometimes you think it’s a curveball coming towards you, but it turns out it’s a grenade. You get sucker punched, and your world is blown to pieces. Suddenly you’re not just staggering, the rug is pulled out from under you, and your life spins out of control. Every time you get up, you get knocked over again. It feels like the world has conspired against you and is eagerly awaiting its chance to kick you and spit in your face while you are down.

Although it can sometimes feel like it, nothing lasts forever. Eventually, you’ll hit bottom, the fall stops, and everything becomes quiet. After a while, you get up. You look around and realize nothing is or will ever be the same. But you also realize that the ground beneath you now is solid, and you can start rebuilding your life. It will be hard work. You’ll have to reevaluate your beliefs, and occasionally you’ll stumble. But you know your new foundation is strong, and each time you get up and continue, you become wiser and can add another brick to your new house that, when done, will withstand anything.
